- What is a Virtual Domain?
- A Virtual Domain means having your own domain name (http://www.your-name.com) without having to install expensive server hardware and software. With a Virtual Domain, you utilize our server's storage space, however you are still professionally represented via your own personal Internet web address domain name (www.your-name.com) and by your own personal e-mail address domain name (you@your-name.com).
- How do I put my information to my web site?
- You upload your files to the hosting server using FTP protocol. This protocol allows sending and receiving files via the Internet. To use this protocol you'll need FTP client software to be installed on your computer. If you are subscribed to one of our maintenance plans you can send the files to us and we'll upload them for you.
- What FTP client software does Web Host Station recommend?
- There are many excellent FTP clients. Web Host Station recommends using the following depending upon your operating system:

- How do I FTP to my server?
- There are many different types of File Transfer Protocol (FTP) software available and each one handles connectivity a little differently. However, for the most part, you will always need to know three things in order to login:
- Your server name
- Your login name
- Your password
Your Log in Name and password is sent to you in your sign-up confirmation email. Your server name will be www.yourdomain.com if you have registered for a domain name. If you are not using a domain name or the domain name has not been transferred yet, use the IP address and path that was assigned to you when the account was created.
- What if I need help with putting my information to my web site?
- If you are subscribed to one of our maintenance plans you can send the files to us and we'll upload them for you. If not, we can provide you with the necessary assistance at a fixed rate.
- When I upload my site, I can see it via FTP, but I don't see it on the web.

- Your domain name hasn't been transferred and propagated yet. Please wait, the process can take up to 72 hours. After you receive Domain Name Transfer Confirmation from you registrant the procedure is completed.
- You could upload files to a wrong directory. Files, those reside on www/ directory or its subdirectories, can be accessed from the Internet.
- How do I transfer a site to Web Host Station's servers?

- Upload your pages to our server via FTP.
- If you have a database, which is being used on your site, you should set up it via Shell Access Client that enables SSH connection. You are welcome to contact technical support group if any questions occur.
- Set up email Aliases and autoresponders using the Control Panel.
- Perform Domain Name Transfer (see: Can I transfer existing domain name to your servers?)

- How soon can I start posting information on my site?
- You can start posting information on your website as soon as you receive a confirmation e-mail that the configuration of your site has been completed. You will receive your TCP/IP address on our web server. You can use this address in place of your domain with any Internet application.
- Does Web Host Station provide any database management systems?
- Web Host Station supports MySQL and other databases depending on the hosting plan you choose.
- Is your server information backed up?
- Yes, our server information is baked up once a week what is quite enough for all practical reasons. Back up includes your site and database content.
- Can I use telnet to access my account on your server?
- We do not provide telnet access for security reasons. We provide shell access with SSH protocol, which is similar to telnet but uses encryption during data transfer.
- Where can I get SSH client?

- Can I use mailing software on your server?
- Yes, you can use mailing software on our server as long as it corresponds to our mailing list software conditions. SPAM is strictly prohibited on WebHostStation.com.
- How do I reach statistics for my site?
- You will manage your site through a web-based Control Panel.
- How do I view Usage Statistics for my site?
- Usage Statistics is available through a Usage Page link on the Control Panel of your site.
- How do I access Control Panel for my site?
- To access the Control Panel follow the link http://yourserver.com/serversecure/control/. Enter your Login Name and Password in the appeared dialog box.
- Where can I find instructions on Control Panel usage?
- Instructions on the Control Panel usage are presented in each section of the Control Panel.
- Do you provide web design services?

DOMAIN NAMES
- What is a Domain Name and how can I get one?
- A domain name is your address on the World Wide Web. To be accessed from anywhere in the world, a domain name must be registered with an ICANN accredited registrar. If you already have a domain name, there is no additional cost to use that domain name with Web Host Station. If you need a domain name you can purchase one through the Web Host Station order form. We'll handle the entire registration and domain name management process for you.
- What Domain Names can I register on Web Host Station?
- Web Host Station can register available .com, .net, .org, .info, .biz, .cc, .gs, .ms, .tc, .vg, .ac, .sh, .co.uk, .org.uk, .nu, and .tv domain names on-line. Use our sign-up form to check the availability of the domain name you want. Contact us to register any other domain.
- Can I transfer existing domain name to your servers?
- Yes, just be sure to specify that you are requesting a transfer and NOT a new domain. You should keep the service with your current provider while waiting for Your Domain name Registrant to complete the transfer process. We will provide you with a temporary IP address so you can mirror the site on our server. All email and web pages will still be accessed from your current site. When Your Domain name Registrant announces the completion of the transfer there is a 72 hour propagation period where visitors could go to either site. At the end of the 72 hours you should contact your previous host to have them delete the old domain from their records and update their DNS record. If you use this same provider for your Internet access you will not be able to access your domain site until they update their DNS.
- Can Web Host Station host domains with country codes?
- Yes, Web Host Station hosts domains with any Top-Level Domain extension.
- How long does it take before my domain name is active?
- Once the Your Domain name Registrant announces that your domain name has been registered (or transferred, if applicable), it usually takes about 72-hours before it is active. All Internet providers must update their records (DNS tables) to reflect the new site's location.
EMAIL
- What is the difference between Mail Accounts and Mail Aliases?
- Mail Accounts e-mail is stored on our server and downloaded to your mail client. Mail Aliases are used to simply forward mail to another Mail Account either on our server or on someone else's. For example, you may have a mail user call KBrown@yourdomainname.com. Then you have an alias sales@yourdomainname.com that forwards all mail to KBrown@yourdomainname.com.
- Mail Forwarding
- All mail that is sent to the addresses ending with @yourdomain.dom is forwarded to your initial mail account. This email account is called the "default" mail forwarding account. Account information can be changed in Forwards within your Control Panel. By default, you do not need to set specific forwarding options for specific addresses associated with your domain name (e.g., webmaster@yourname.com, sales@yourname.com, etc.) as long as you want any and all email addressed to your domain name to go to your default email account. Depending on your hosting plan, you can also set up 10 to Unlimited Number of specific mail accounts on our server. The number of Mail Aliases is unlimited. You can easily do this from the Control Panel.
- Autoresponders
- An autoresponder will send a standard response email message (based on a text file you specify) to anyone who sends email to a specific email address (which you specify) at your domain. Each of our hosting plans allows you to set up a specific number of autoresponders for free. Settings for Autoresponders are available at Control Panel/Autoresponders.
- How can I access my mail box?
- You can access it via POP3 and SMTP protocols using your favorite mail client (like Outlook Express or The Bat!) or using our web mail from any web browser by visiting http://webmail.yourdomain
- Can I access my mailbox through the web browser?
- Yes, you can use Web Mail Link on Additional Services page of your administration control panel to access your mail account through your web browser.
- Why webhoststation.com appears in the "From" field of my outgoing e-mails?
- This happens because you didn't set your reply address in the web mail configuration page. After you login to each of your mailboxes using a web-mail for the first time, please visit config link to set your reply address. Otherwise there will be webhoststation.com domain name in the "From" field of your outgoing e-mails. Configuration options must be set for every mailbox you use.
- Can I send attachments using web mail on webhoststation.com?
- Yes, attachments can be added in the bottom part of the mail compose page.
- Which SMTP and POP3 mail servers can I use from webhoststation web mail?
- In setting of your mail client use the following values:
POP server: mail.yourdomain username: your full email address password: your password SMTP server: mail.yourdomain Option "My server requires authorization" should be on. Use the same username and password as for POP3
- Can I change the language of web mail interface?
- Yes, you can change the user interface language for web mail in the config page of web mail interface. There are 17 different languages available there.
- Are web mail interface configuration settings the same for all my mailboxes?
- No, you can set different interface configuration for every mailbox you work with.
WEB SITE MAINTENANCE
- Why do I need a maintenance plan?
- It's absolutely vital if you want all the works on your site to be performed by professionals. We'll take care of your site maintenance that means installation of new scripts; upgrading and fixing of already installed scripts, implementation of design changes, and analytical report on possible site improvements.
- Do you provide FREE hosting?

- How do I cancel my account?
- Cancellation requests for Web Host Station accounts must be received in writing via fax or postal service at Web Host Station's main office one month prior to the next billing cycle.
- How can I get a discount for the maintenance services?
- If you pay the annual fee at once, additionally you get TWO months FREE. You save up to $360 additionally!
POLICIES
- How long does it take to set up an account?
- Our sign-up process means that your new account will be created within one business day at the maximum when you pay by credit card.
- Is there a 100% money-back guarantee?
- All of Web Host Station's maintenance plans are backed by a 30-day money back guarantee. If you are not completely satisfied with our services within the first 30 days of your contract, you will be given a full refund of the contract amount excluding setup fees, domain registration fees, add-on/upgrade fees, overages and US $4 payment processing fee. Setup fees are refundable only if the account is canceled prior to account activation. - Does Web Host Station permit "adult" hosting?
- Pornography and sex-related merchandising is prohibited on all our servers. This includes sites that may infer sexual content, or links to adult content elsewhere. We will be the sole arbiter in determining violations of this provision, as described in Terms and Guarantees.
- Can I use Bulk email sending for promotion?
- Sending bulk volumes of unsolicited email, or "spamming", is in violation of Web Host Station Terms of Service and will result in termination of your account, as described in Terms and Guarantees.
- Does Web Host Station guarantee 100% up-time?
- Web Host Station endeavors to have your web site available 100% of the time, services may be interrupted for several reasons. We make no 100% warranty as to the uptime of our server other than that we will make all reasonable and honest efforts to ensure its proper work and safety. Disasters can occur on the server too! Please read more on it in Web Host Station Terms and Guarantees.
- Can I be sure in fixed prices for the services?
- All prices are guaranteed for the term of pre-payment. Additionally, for continuous customers in good financial standing, Web Host Station guarantees that your current maintenance plan pricing is locked forever. If your hosting plan is being upgraded with new features, you will get them for free even if prices for new customers have changed.
- Do you guarantee privacy for your customers?
- Web Host Station will not share or disclose information regarding its Customers except in the event of a legal request, such as a court order, when reasonably necessary to protect the company's rights or property, or in emergencies where someone's safety is at risk, as described in Terms and Guarantees.
